They say "variety is the spice of life" and there is nothing more true about being a garden designer and landscaper rolled into one.
Apart from my deep love of working with water in the garden, one thing I really enjoy about designing and building gardens, is that my 'office' changes from project to project. The variety is wonderful and often inspires ideas for future gardens.
There are so many variables in this line of work, different hats worn and new discoveries every day. There are traditions too and wonderful people who still use 'old-fashioned' craft skills. Which means I love learning and discovering new methods as well as old ones. With gardening, both as an amateur and a professional, you are on a journey of discovery that never ends and gives countless hours of enjoyment (and a bad back, painful knees, cold hands, sore feet..!)
